A few minutes to myself to post.

I'm heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere! And I'll start off by saying that nothing has been wrong and that I've just been so busy!! Thanks for thinking of me and hoping things were alright though!

I know I should have written sooner, it's just that I have little time to myself anymore. When I DO have time, I have to use it to get things done around the house, etc etc.. I have Alyson sitting beside me in her highchair just so I have a few minutes to myself to type this post.

The older Aly gets, the shorter and fewer her naps are during the day. Her normal routine is: Wake up around 8am for a bottle...stay up and play for a few hours, then go down for a nap. While she is playing I manage to gobble down some breakfast, and then depending how much sleep I've had the night before, I take a nap when she does....therefore nothing productive gets done during nap #1. If I have had a decent sleep, I take advantage of that nap time and do some housework or manage to get a shower. (HA! A shower before noon! Imagine that!)

So once she wakes up from nap #1, it's usually 11-ish. She is now up until 2-3ish, and mommy must now give another bottle and attempt to get things done around the house while entertaining a 7-month old. Usually after bottles, I put her in her Tropical Around-We-Go Walker for awhile.... it's the best thing invented.(Well, ONE of them!) The walker part is detachable, so when she gets older, she can just use the activity table. Here's a picture of her in it. She LOVES it! (I got it from Target online if anyone wants to know...Bright Starts makes it.)

Nap #2 comes around 2:30-3pm....she starts getting really fussy so I'll just lay her down and she'll pull her blankie up around her face, stick her finger in her mouth and roll over and go to sleep. That's if I'm lucky. Now I'm faced with a dilemma... do I enjoy the time to myself and actually get on the computer and POST for a change....or do I do housework or get a shower. The housework and shower usually win out, hence no posting..sorry!

(Ahh... I might have time to myself now. I just laid Alyson down for a nap. We'll of right now, she's in her pack n' play babbling and kicking her legs!)

I just can't believe how long it's been since I've posted! I have so much to get caught up on.

The Holidays: Christmas went well.... we had a big get-together at my Grandma's on Christmas Eve, as we do every year. Christmas Day was spent at Russ's mom's house, and my parents' house. New Years eve, Russ and I hung out with some friends of ours. It was exciting this year since it was Aly's first Christmas. She was so cute in her Christmas dresses!! Russ made fun of me because I wrapped her Christmas gifts, and then had to unwrap them for her. I don't know why I did, but oh well! I didn't go overboard with her Christmas gifts this year, because I knew alot of friends and family were buying her stuff... I just got her some little things that light up and play music.... an ABC ball, lights and sounds ball, light up stacker set, Laugh and Learn puppy, a baby laptop, Baby talking Pooh Bear, and a book with different textures. 2 of the gifts we got her were repeated from friends of ours! I just thought it was funny, that out of ALL the kid toys out there, we got doubles of things. Guess I made some good choices:-) Oh, and I have a question for you mommies out there.... do the rest of you have these toys' songs stuck in your head 24-7?! And are you starting to get sick of hearing them all the time?! LOL!

Now an update on 2008... not much to report as of yet. My resolution was to lose weight and eat better (as it is every year, pretty much), and I've stuck with it so far! Woo hoo! I've lost about 4 pounds...I'd like that to be more, but I'll take what I can get. I feel sooo much better though... I haven't been eating sweets and junk. And it figures that everybody and their brother gave me hershey kisses and candy with my christmas gifts, too. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of candy. I tucked it away in a drawer... I figure if I get that "give me chocolate or I'm gonna rip someone's head off" PMS feeling, at least I'll have something in the house!! :-P

I can't finish this post without talking about Alyson some more... she's getting SO DARN BIG! She had her 6-month appointment a few weeks ago, and she was 19 pounds and 27 inches. 90% for weight and 85% for height. Her head was 45cm...right above the curved the charts! lol! My daughter officially has a big noggin. Yet another thing she got from her daddy.

It's just so hard to believe she is 7 months old already, as of the 21st. It just seems like it's something new with her every week! She's busily working on her babbling skills, and has been practicing up on her "B" and "M" sounds.
Oh, and her skills of blowing raspberries! She's TRYING to crawl. She's doing the creeping thing. She'll raise up on her elbows and push against the floor with her knees to move's too cute. Pretty soon I'm gonna find her across the living room floor instead of on her playmat. She rolls all over the place already. The other day, I was getting ready and Russ was downstairs in his office. I had left Alyson on her playmat to play with all her toys. I kept checking on her, and she was right where I left her. A few minutes later, Russ came upstairs and I heard him laugh and say,"Aly, what are you doing, punkin?" I walked down the hallway and saw that she had rolled across the living room floor and was next to the coffee table chewing on one of the dogs' rawhide bones, holding it like it was a baby bottle. Ugh. That's when I knew the babyproofing needed to

Well, Aly's sleeping now, so I should take advantage of it and go get a shower. I at least have a half hour, so I need to THe rest of the night is pretty much up in the air...she may take a nap, or she may not.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've sucked at keeping up with all your blogs... i need to get caught up on them! Ugh....spare time, how I miss you! :-)
Take care, whoever still checks on my blog, since I haven't posted in nearly 2 months! (Come back! Come back! I'm still here!)

I'll post holiday pics soon. I just have to put them into slideshows.
